About Laura

Laura Murray — artist, entrepreneur, teacher and author — began her experimentation with textile color and texture in 1989. Her work, which appears in books, magazines, quilt calendars, and DVDs, includes wearable art and award-winning quilts.

Laura's passionate response to surface design resulted in the creation of her favorite images as a stencil collection. When she began exploring Paintstik applications, a burst of innovative intuition led her to create the StarBuilder stamps. These ground-breaking stamps offer the opportunity for self-expressive, original designs to those who wish to use Paintstiks in new and novel ways.

Recently, Laura has expanded her stamp designs. She continues to experiment with stamps, paintstiks and fusible web to create the appearance of complex traditional quilt designs without the need for sewing.
