COLLAGE ANATOMY
DESCRIPTION: Learn an easy collage technique which promotes creativity without the technical
demands of traditional piecing. Have fun integrating cottons, silks, and synthetics to create a small
wall hanging (approximately 18" x 24") by working spontaneously and directly with fabric.
HOURS: This is a one-day class, with six hours of instruction.
CLASS SIZE: 8 – 16, depending on space limitations.
CLASSROOM REQUIREMENTS:
Workspace - Minimum of 30" workspace per student;
two students at a 6’ table are acceptable, although one student
per table is considerably more comfortable.
Design Boards - Each student must have the ability to work
on a design board, approximately 3' x 3'. These can be foam
core, insulation board, bulletin boards, provided by the Guild.
If boards are not feasible, a 1 -yard piece of flannel or batting
tacked to the wall will suffice (provided by the students). This
means there must be sufficient wall space to accommodate the
number of students in the class.
Instructor Tables: - Two tables for instructor materials and
quilts.
STUDENT FEES: There is a $3.00 charge per student for handouts (which are
in color), payable to the instructor. Click here for
complete supply list.
FABRIC FOR SALE: The instructor will have a variety of hand dyed
fabrics available for discretionary purchase. There is no "sales
pitch", just an effort to provide interesting options for those who
may be interested.
INSTRUCTOR FEE: Daily rate of $600.00, plus travel expenses
(including coach airfare, ground transportation expenses, and
food/lodging). If I drive, mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate.
Lodging - I am willing to stay in private homes with a private
bedroom and bath.
