FOIL YOUR FABRIC
DESCRIPTION : Its fun, fast, flashy and easy to learn. Foil, in colors of the rainbow, can
be transferred to fabric to create spectacular special effects for use in both quilts and garments.
The class will acquaint you with the techniques and provide you with a series of samples for
future inspiration.

CLASS LENGTH: Full day (six hours)
CLASS SIZE: 8-20
STUDENT FEE: Students will need both a foil kit* ($15.00) and a stamp-making kit ($5), supplied
by the instructor. Click here for complete supply list. Additional foil
supplies will be available for discretionary purchase.
Note: Foil is not generally available from local sources, so the foil is supplied as a convenience to
students. Mail order sources will be provided during class.
CLASS PROJECT: Students will complete a series of 12" square foiled samples (6 12+, depending
on student choices). Additionally, they will design and carve an original stamp.
CLASSROOM REQUIREMENTS: Each student needs approximately 30" of workspace two students per 6
table works well.
Space is required for samples to lay flat while drying (drying takes about 2 hours) this can be
table or floor space. Collapsible drying racks work great if space is at a premium and racks are
available.
Access to a water source is required a bathroom or utility sink works fine.
INSTRUCTOR REQUIREMENT: Two tables for display purposes.
WORKSHOP FEE: Daily rate of $600.00, plus travel expenses (including coach airfare, ground
transportation expenses, and food/lodging). If I drive, mileage reimbursement at current IRS rates.
Lodging - I am willing to stay in private homes with a private bedroom and bath.
