LUSCIOUS LAYERS General Information
DESCRIPTION
For texture enthusiasts, class features a hands-on opportunity to experiment with a variety of
surface design techniques that can be layered to create dimensional textures on fabric. This is
a fun, fast paced introduction to materials such as Tyvek, foil, Angelina fibers, painted
Wonder-Under, and Xpandaprint along with a variety of paints -- transfer, textile paints, plus
Shiva Artist's Paintstiks. Students will produce a series of samples, including an original
piece of fabric jewelry.
This class can be taught in either a two or three day format.
CLASS SIZE: 8 – 20, depending on space limitations.
CLASSROOM REQUIREMENTS
- Each student needs approximately 30” of workspace; two students at a 6’ table is acceptable,
although one student per table is considerably more comfortable.
- Access to sinks is essential, along with space for student projects to dry.
- Instructor requires minimum of 5 tables for class materials and samples.
COST: $600.00 per day, plus travel/lodging and class material shipping expenses.
STUDENT FEES: There is a $35.00 charge for supplies used in class: variety
of acrylic, transfer paints, Paintstiks, plus other specialty materials
such as Tyvek, foil, X-pandaprint, angelina fibers, etc.
